Someone PLEASE tell Artie Steely Dan is NOT even remotely close to being Pink Floyd…i’m pushing 50 and they sucked bigtime back then!!!
Since i got a brother & 2 sisters who grew up in Norwood, home of his idol, Thurmond Munson…i’ve heard “Freebird,” Zepelin, and Molly Hatchet ad nauseum…Bergen county don’t know shit about rock!!!
And having heard Springsteen at the Bottom Line when he just signed his record deal, the E Street band was always GREAT live…sucked on records in comparison.
New York Dolls, Alice Cooper, Patti Smith, Funkadelic, Lou Reed, Ruddy Q and the Kotex from Mars, and maybe the Ramones WERE the shit back then…Steely Dan was limp-dicked homo muzak.
“Exile on Main Street” was probably one of the best Stones studio albums ever made…and IF you ever heard Page do ‘Dazed & Confused’ when he was still with the Yardbirds, you’d KNOW Zeppelin is overrated [heard it on bootleg...too young to have heard the Yardbirds live].
FINALLY got to see Jeff Beck live in ‘99, and besides Stanley Clarke, HE is probably one of the only living legends around today…fuck BB King and Santana…Beck rocks their socks off:)
