Artie Lange said he needs to “dry out” for six months.. After visiting a doctor and a argument with Howard today, he announced that he will take a leave from “show business” in January. He said he is not leaving the show, he is leaving show business. He feels that he is dying, and has completely lost control. He is possibly on the verge of diabetes, which his father had.
“Howard, I feel like I’m going nuts“, said Artie. He hasn’t confronted the many “demons” in his life. Howard emotionally gave him his blessing, but with caution “The pain in your life will never change whether you are working or not“. He recommended repeatedly to go see a shrink seriously before deciding.
“I am burnt out from the road. The longer i stay here.. the longer they are going to throw these gigs at me…”

By 10:40, Robin kept saying she wanted to leave the show for today and that she has the shakes at the moment. Talk already going around the studio with who would fill the chair. Howard said unless someone came around, he would just do the show with who was left.
