Artie vs Sal & Richard
Wednesday, October 31st, 2007I just don’t have the energy to write a summary of what went on. Here is a quickie from what I can remember and I know I am leaving out so much.
- High Pitch Mike was bitching about Artie slacking on the show for awhile.
- Mike then releases a song where it tells Artie to follow his father off a roof.
- It was then found out that Sal and Richard helped out on it.
- That led in Artie and Sal slinging some major verbal jabs on Wednesday’s show and then into Wrap-Up show to the point where a fistfight is threatened by Artie.
- Comes down to Artie calling Richard and Sal not writers on any level and that they aren’t funny and that he never wants to talk to them again. Richard and Sal argue that they are writers and that there is an overall lack of respect of what they do from Artie.
Personally, I found myself kind of agreeing with Artie during the regular show but when the wrap-up show came on I found myself siding with Richard and Sal. Artie is belittling and trivializing the gay duos contributions to the show.
Frankly Sal is right, sketches are not really that relevant anymore. Remember when Howard first came on Sirius and they tried to do some? It didn’t work that well. The phone calls are very creative and dare I say genius at times. And to say that they don’t “write” is ridiculous. To come up with the Jack and Rod shows, prank calls - most of those have developed set-ups which allow for the funny to take place.
