Jackie Martling talks Artie in NY Post article
The New York Post today has a little article on Jackie Martling where the “Joke Man” comments on Artie “Beef” Lange.
I still get the idiot listeners e-mailing me saying, ‘Oh, you’ll crawl back to Howard if Artie leaves!’ ” The old-time comic gives some drinking and drugging advice to his replacement, hard-partying Artie Lange: “I’m sure Artie has his hands full. But he’s a young guy with a lot of money. If he weren’t out there [bleep]ing, spending his money and getting drunk, I would think there’s something wrong with him. I think it’s just good headlines. I hope that Artie isn’t in as much trouble as everyone seems to think he his.”

Fuck what Jackie thinks about anything.

Howard doesn’t want him back. His time (while great) on the show is long gone.

Sounds nice, but i’m sure Jerkman has an Artie voodoo doll and is PRAYING for Artie to roll over so that he can snake his way back onto the show

After listening to the Jackie spotlight this whole weekend. I agree with ratfink F jackie the show is 100 times better with Artie. Jackie is a self serving a-hole and deserves what he gets, drifting off into total obscurity. Good riddence ahole and your act sucks.

I think the show is different with Artie, not better. Jackie has some classic moments, and so does Artie. Artie is only funnier now becuase he’s able to be more comfortable, and curse freely. And the show revolves around him a lot.

What I should have said was the WHOLE show is better now,, you can hear it in their voices, they are like little kids, I love it.

Im not sure its possible to compare. Its like apples and oranges. Back when Jackie was on the show the show was completely different… lack of technology, people like stuttering john, there was no Sal or Richard.. Its a completely different dynamic. Who knows what the show would be like mixing him with all the stuff going on now.. the show is just totally different.

Yeah that’s the thing,,it’s basically just different from every aspect

Yeah I call it better…..Try getting through an episode of The Joke Hunt and then tell me what you think. The Howard Stern show has evolved for the better, and after hearing how self important Jackie is/was combined with his misperception of himself as a Hippy it was only a matter of time before Jackie provided some bigger unresolvable rift in the staff.

True, I have gotten through some episodes of the Joke Hunt and enjoyed them once in awhile, but see you are also judging a show where jackie is the focus and has been away from the stern show for 7 years left to his own devices.. What would he be like if he continued with the show and he was still a sidekick … maybe he wouldnt be as big of a hippie.

I don’t think Jokehunt is all that bad, but I am a Jackie fan (and an Artie fan), and don’t mind an hour of Jackie on Saturday’s. The Stern show HAS evolved for the better, that I will agree with.

He claimed he was a hippie on the Stern show. And you know most hippies hold out for money and screw with friends and co-workers about money. Stern is loyal to his staff to a fault. The fact that Howard came out and publicly said he was done with Jackie IMO speaks volumes as to what a jerk he really is/was.

i dont like hippies.
