History of Howard Stern

Has anyone else been listening the past 2 days? If not, you are missing out on great radio. Both days have been really great. I have been glued to the radio. Very well produced! Awesome hearing the old tapes from his other jobs/stations.

Yeah it’s great. I liked today’s better actually.

  2. Arties Heart Says:

Yeah it’s pretty cool and different, still I miss the daily show. Seems like something is missing from the day.

  3. Allison Says:

Yeah it’s been really great, like you said really well produced

  4. Robins Left One Says:

I think it sucks, I want the daily show!

  5. EminemsRevenge Says:

Right now i’m listening to him talking to the late Petey Green[e?] in DC…this show goes BEYOND “Private Parts”…and it’s amazing to hear him so YOUNG and inexperienced!

    Robin sounds the same though:)

  6. EminemsRevenge Says:

BTW…anyone who thinks that Howard 100 replaying the show all day is a dumb idea is insane—you get to catch what you missed, and if you don’t want to hear something again you can go to 101 or Raw Dog when Lynn Samuels ain’t on—i even hear they got music stations!!!

I dont miss the live show at all! This is awesome. Its funny when you hear the real story and not the “movie” version. Like Robin not getting hired from WNBC right off the bat. The movie has Robin getting hired when Howard does, then Howard had to beg to get her back. I could never understand why movies make up shit when the truth would be just as interesting or more.

i’ve always thought that anyone with half a brain could do Garry’s job…but just hearing him saying that he’d quit if Howard walked gives me newfound respect for the horse-tooth jackass…but still don’t understand the Soupy thing.

i remember that Soupy show on television…think it was on Channel 5, but might’ve been nine…and we couldn’t wait for that fucking moron to get thru his skits so that we could watch some cartoons.

  9. EminemsRevenge Says:

Damn…can’t wait for Part II…this show wasn’t enough!!!

i can’t wait for the k-Rock years, which is where i really came in on the Stern show even though i had heard him some when he was on WNBC

Gary does allot more then people think, he gets the persona of a stupid monkey from howards beatings. The guy is very smart.

  11. artiefan Says:

I always had a lot of respect for Gary. You can’t be a producer of a show that long without being able to get a ton of stuff done and manage people.

By the way, did anyone get to hear the segment yesterday with the Imus stuff and apparently there was tape of him calling Robin names? I missed it

  12. Joopster Says:

I don’t really like it all that well.

  13. artiefan Says:

I liked it better when they had more people talking and less playing of actual recordings which they seemed to do later on in the week.

  14. JACK WHITE Says:

ya know, i’ve been a listener since 1983…..listening to Howard’s nasaly manic, sophomoric delivery and shtick from back then during ‘history of’, i just didnt find it funny…..maybe i’ve grown up and have more refined taste, but i find his show infinitely more enjoyable now….

  15. Ratfink Says:

Howard sounds like an asshole compared to now. Maybe thats just growth.

  16. Joopster Says:

He was a little nasally and sounded young. I am sure part of the problem was the recording that they have, sound quality then is not what it is now.

I did find some parts of it interesting but for the most part, I just wish the show was on.

  17. Sal is a homo Says:

I just finished Robin’s book and hearing the voices of people who were mentioned in the book is fascinating to me. Also, as a fan of only 6 short years, it’s nice to hear Howard’s history. Miss the show, but “History” is a close second.

  18. artiefan Says:

    How was Robin’s book?

  19. Allison Says:

I wasn’t sure, but thought this would be the best place to post this. In 1990 I guess there was that story of the woman who locked her kid in the trunck of her car, to keep her “safe” The Ch 9 shows really were the best. I am watching one now, where they are dressed as vikings with coconut bras, and they lock gary in the trunk of a car, then they lock Bob Geldof in it while he plays a song haha. Ted the Janitor dressed up as an African, complete with the plate in the lip and shark tooth necklace carrying a spear. I could watch these all day.

  20. artiefan Says:

I gotta get me some of that old shiznit.

  21. Allison Says:

You totally do. It cost me 150, I took a big risk considering it was ebay, but Thank god and baby jesus. They are priceless.

  22. Allison Says:

The Superbowl parties, where all the guys got massages. Ronnie with a lot more hair than he has now, and Howard when he went to visit Al Sharpton in the hospital after he got stabbed in the early 90’s lol. I could go on all day, but you get the picture.

  23. Artie's heart Says:

I have a few of the channel nine show on VHS, I have but bongo, and new years rotten eve also.

  24. Allison Says:

Sweet Artie’s heart. I have butt bongo, but I’d love to get New Years rotten eve, I remember the show. That was a PPV wasn’t it? I need US open sores too lol

  25. Allison Says:

    I didn’t know where to put this…

I’m dying… watching The Best of 2006 on Howard TV, TONS of awesome stuff, but Gary introduced a clip of his infamous “I wan’t you back” tape,, hahaha so he goes “And while you watch this, I’ll be washing my pussy”
    HAHAHA!
