Artie Lange apologizes over Heath Ledger joke

Jessica Hahn called in this morning because her long time boyfriend died of lung cancer last night. After Jessica hung up, Artie said that he needed a moment to apologize about the Heath Ledger jokes he made immediately following Heath Ledger’s death. Apparently he had gotten a good response when he used the joke on the East Coast and then went over to Las Vegas and opened the 2 shows with the joke and it killed again.

    I didn’t think Artie’s joke was offensive at all. It had the potential to be, but he didn’t go there.

    Chester Newton, shut the hell up. Artie Lange is hilarious. I was actually at one of his sets in Manhattan, near the Chelsea hotel and this joke KILLED. There wasn’t a single person in the place who wasn’t dying of laughter. Anyway, you’re a tool Newton you need to die.
