Artie explodes on Teddy, walks off show

Around 8 am. Artie goes on another FAGGOT tirade today on the show, this time the target: Teddy. When Teddy didn’t know to keep a copy of Artie’s passport, Artie blew up on Teddy in the hallway during the commercial. When they came back from break, Artie brought Teddy in and erupted.

Teddy claims he tries to quit every week.

SOUNDS LIKE ARTIE ALMOST ATTACKED TEDDY ON THE AIR!!! Robin just yelled “What the F is going on”! Howard just said that Artie needs to go home and cool down.

Artie came back in saying repeatedly Teddy is ripping off my money. Then blamed Howard for prodding Artie to get to that level calling him “The Great Interviewer”. Artie brought up the Sal situation and said why would you put me back in the same situation claiming Howard wants it. Howard said I doesn’t want this and that Artie needs to stay under control. Artie said he couldn’t be trusted.

Artie then said he resigns. Howard accepted.

Artie walks out

“I’m not a good person… I gotta leave.. I love you.”

Later Robin sounded like she was almost crying. Dominic called in and said it “doesn’t take Dr. Ablow to say that it has nothing to do with Teddy“. Benjy said that he thought Artie could hurt himself, or in a suicidal state.

————————-

It’s funny that Artie went nuts on Teddy over money, yet, he let his bookie rip him off $50,000. I think Artie is back on drugs or maybe seriously depressed.

ive been thinking hes been back on drugs for a few weeks now seems extremely paranoid

  2. artiefan Says:

    paranoid is the key word.

  3. shoeproduction Says:

    WOW! this is crazy….

  4. Allison Says:

Omg WOW. It could have been Teddy,, it could have been HIgh Pitched Mike, etc etc. But it was gonna happen. Artie finally broke. I think Benji is right, he could hurt himself. WOW WOW.

  5. artiefan Says:

    this is bananas… im stunned.

  6. Jason Says:

You think it’s a bit for the show? Will they be on next week? Are they trying to freak us out before they take a week or two off?

  7. Arties Heart Says:

Stunned!?!?!? Everyone saw this coming except for Howard. Baby gorilla was the best name for this guy. WHAT A FUCKIN CHILD.

  8. Jeff Says:

I hope he can get some help. good luck artie

  9. joedon7 Says:

This is BS! Howard did push Arties buttons a little… a little bit… This is crap!

  10. Gus Says:

Holy shit. I’m in L.A. & just turned it on to Howard saying “I’m bummed”, over and over. This is completely depressing.

  11. Allison Says:

I don’t think he’ll be back after this. What time did it start? 8??? WOW I hope the Howard TV cameras got that shit. Was it Ralph I think when I turned it on,, saying shit with his shore house is fucked up too. I heard Artie say it the other day. OMG I need coffee for this

  12. Jeff Says:

this may be a video howard blacklists. At the same time may be the best and worst show moment all rolled into one

  13. James Says:

I am so pissed that I missed this. I hope they replay it today

  14. Allison Says:

He may not show it yeah. It’s totally gonna be replayed. “The day Artie walked off”

  15. artiefan Says:

oh James, this was incredible to hear. You gotta hear it.

  16. robin's egg Says:

Howard is the most blind S O B on the planet…he didn’t see this coming? He loves this shit and then plays dumb about how it happened.

That being said…it’s time to fire Artie….any other business in the world would do just that.

As much as I hate to say it…I think the Howard Stern Show will implode before the year is out. Mark my words.

  17. Bronco Bob Says:

Artie has lots of internal problems…however the #1 problem is not ” MANAGING THE CONFLICT”
ask any balanced well healed executive and they will always say MANAGING THE CONFLICT is paramount to communication….and communication is key to successful dealings…with friends, relatives
    advisaries….

unless Artie seeks help from someone qualified to teach him a few controls on self preservasion….he will be doomed !

  18. artiefan Says:

I think Howard really thought he would problem solve this for them… he is always bringing people in and trying to patch up fights…. I dont think he thought it would happen because he felt they were both close

  19. Arties New Assistant Says:

Hey, does anyone have the email address where I send my resume to take over as Arties assistant? Thanks!

  20. Allison Says:

Yeah major day for the show. I agree Robins egg. Show started with “Don’t let me down” too.

  21. lou fragianolia Says:

this guy , bronco bob has is right.
btw …bronco bob’s music is killer…he is a great blues singer and guitar player…check him out
    http://www.broncobob.net…his music kiss ass!
artie should listen to bronco bob…it will make him feel much better/ Lou F.

  22. Allison Says:

LOL Artie’s assistant. At your own risk I suppose.

  23. Arties Heart Says:

I’ll be shocked if Arties not finished. How can Howard or anyone on the show ever trust him again? Arties a funny guy he could beat the shit out of Teddy with words he could have waited to throw him a smack down when no one was around. As a guy who also grew up in NJ : you fucked up fat boy..Again…

    Rule #1 No witnesses…

    Rule #2: No bruises…

    Rule #3: Have an alibi….

  24. artiefan Says:

    LOL arties heart.

i wouldnt be surprised if Artie came back.. or if Artie was done.

  25. James Says:

Does Howard 101 play the show again before howard 100

  26. artiefan Says:

101 Replay starts at 9am. You should hear this part of the show at around 11am on 101

  27. robin's egg Says:

I found myself almost physically sick by hearing this…it’s sad to hear someone self destruct like Artie is doing. He is hellbent on following in the footsteps of his idol Belushi.

I have sympathy AND resentment for him all rounded in to one.

  28. Allison Says:

yeah James, on 101 now, just started at 9. LOL Artie’s Heart :) I knew it would happen, just not this soon, WOW

  29. mjcane Says:

I think Howard thinks he is a shrink himself. He continually evaluates people and plays psychotherapist. Each time he fails miserably.

That being said, each person must be held personally accountable for their actions. This is the third major conflict Artie has had with co-workers that we know of. He has to get help, not for his career or professional life, but for him to enjoy the years he has left, he must get professional help.

    This is a sad day.

  30. James Says:

Thanks!! Hey, does anyone have Sonos?

  31. Marty Says:

He just needs some serious help. I think Howard’s been half grooming Greg Fitzsimmons for his chair for a while in anticipation of a heroin freak out/melt down

  32. Arties Heart Says:

I didn’t get to hear the initial fight only the aftermath. Artie lost his passport and blames Teddy that he did keep a copy?!?! I never heard of a copy passport maybe an extra pic for a passport but not a passport itself. Then he blames howard for instigating the fight? All kidding aside he really is a fucking baby. He really is someone who cannot take responsibility for their own actions. And if he leaves the show like this it’s the definition of going out like a bitch.

  33. Allison Says:

I mean look at the sleeping stuff from yesterday…. And the next day all this. Aren’t they coming up on a vacation too? I think if it wasn’t Teddy, it would have been somebody else. Artie is way too irritable.

  34. Allison Says:

I agree Artie’s heart and robins egg. A lot of different feelings about it all now. I personally wouldn’t want Greg Fitzsimmons. They’ll do another contest, Win Artie’s chair. It is a very bad day for the show.

  35. Showfan Says:

Maybe just maybe this can be saved if Artie says he will commit to getting help AND does it. Yup I know. Breath not held. I am fascinated with Artie’s defenses against doing this. As a recovering person myself I understand it but am also SO frustrated by his self destruction.

  36. Greg Says:

I really hate to say it but I really don’t think artie will make it through the vacation from the show. He is in a critical state of aggression and depression. Once he realizes what he did, and what he did to Howard, I really feel he will harm himself. I am really depressed over this myself, he’s melting down in front of our eyes.

  37. Maruo Says:

I love Artie, but when the fire him I hope he is replaced by
    Colin Quinn.

  38. Allison Says:

The way Artie’s head is now,, negativity is prevailing. He totally has the capacity to hurt himself too. Does anyone think he’ll be back on the show? I think this was it. OVER.

  39. robin's egg Says:

I’ve had this feeling for the last 2 years that the show really is on it’s last legs…not because it hasn’t been great…these have been awesome years…but all of the cast have grown, changed and in Artie’s case…been set on destroying themself.

Today was the most extreme example of what I’m talking about.
I’ve listened since WNBC..and I don’t want to see the show “jump the shark” but I can’t help thinking it’s close to doing that.

  40. artiefan Says:

This is the worst possible time for this to happen… or the best time. Either way, doesn’t look good.

  41. mjcane Says:

Rumor has it Jackie called Sirius today.

  42. Booya Says:

I was just driving into NYC and I saw a Mercedes Benz with a 12 foot hero sticking out of the sunroof and 10 pizza’s in the passenger seat. You think that’s Arties car?

  43. Artie's Arse Says:

You know what will really piss Artie off? How vindicated High-Pitched Mike is going to feel. HPM is probably recording his latest high-pitched rant about this right now…

  44. Allison Says:

    LOL…. Booya.

The thing is robinsegg, is they have like 2 and a half years left. I bet that Howard would rotate guys throughout all that. It won’t be the same. But I think the Sirius years have been some of the best. I never thought of how the show would end until thinking of it all now.

He still has to go entertain the troops with Gary and Nick Dipaolo. He can’t miss that, I’m pretty sure he signed on for it all already.

  45. Jackie Martling Says:

How’s it going everyone! Did I miss anything? Did you all miss me?

Hey why don’t Gorilla’s in the jungle play poker anymore? Because there are too many ‘Cheetahs’!!! Ahhhh hahahaha yuck yuck yuck heee heee!

I heard Howard might be hiring again?

  46. Big Artie fan Says:

Artie is the show now, Howard is worried because he knows if artie doesnt come back the show will go down hill.I will not listen as much without artie on..i will become a bigger buuba fan…

  47. Jackie Martling Says:

No…SIRIUSLY! Haaaw haw heeee heeeeEEEEee. Hiring? Anyone?

  48. Bubba The Love Sponge Says:

I dont want turncoats as fans. Go listen to something on XM.

  49. robin's egg Says:

I think Big Artie Fan is right on the money….that’s why I think the show will implode this year. If Artie dies or is really gone Howard will be back to 5 days a week at the therapist.

I really do think we’ll look back at this day and remember when the magic died.

  50. Artie's Arse Says:

    “The Day The Prozac Died”

  51. Allison Says:

I will NEVER listen to Bubba. I think he and his show are fucking awful. Jackie LMAO.

  52. artiefan Says:

They are playing “Alive” by Pearl Jam coming out of break.. LMAO

  53. Big Artie fan Says:

i wonder what artie meant by teddy stealing his money?? Does that mean that he found out that teddy was taking it out of his account or what

  54. artiefan Says:

Its his way of saying Teddy isn’t doing the job he is paying him for.

  55. Jwm Logjammin' Says:

Artie is in real trouble here; I was at a party about 2 weeks ago and saw him or someone that looks like him peeing on a cat.

  56. Artie's Arse Says:

Artie was paying Teddy $24000/year with 2 bonus’ of $8000 each ($16000 Total Bonus) so $40000/year Total Payment

  57. TUCK Says:

WOW!! Artie Holy Shit! I hope he’s alright…I hope Teddy is alright… This is out of control. I don’t know what to believe? Artie wont hurt himself? will he?? No.. Fuck this sucks!

  58. Big Artie fan Says:

I’m reading different blogs on other sites, for those saying bring back jackie, if they do ,i will cancel my sirius!!!!

  59. EminemsRevenge Says:

Damn, i definitely gotta listen to the replay immediately!!!

Fuckin’ Artie—Today’s the nicest day of the year so far, and now instead of going out and enjoying what is usually my shitty day off i gotta listen to hear how Artie sounds—whether this is a total FUCK YOU moment or him just blowing off some steam.

Hope it’s the later, because the show ain’t the same without him:(

  60. artiefan Says:

Hey Eminem - its been awhile!

  61. Allison Says:

And if the show goes to afternoons, it’s over.

  62. artiefan Says:

That would never happen.. prime time is the morning drive.

  63. Allison Says:

Yeah I know, but just the talk of it makes me crazy.

  64. D-Man Says:

Artie’s an ass. He’s an angry addict who thinks he’s better than he is. He thinks he’s a better comedian than he is, he thinks he’s a better actor than he is, he thinks he’s a better person than he is. F Artie.

  65. David Says:

Artie hates the person he is. He is the ultimate sad clown. He believes that everyone is out to get him and this comes out whenever he argues with someone it takes him seconds to declare that he “hates” that person. He says that he wanted to fire Teddy for a long time but could bring him self to do it. He also hates who he is and would probably like to end it all but can’t bring himself to do it. So he does it by backdoor methods such as eating, chain-smoking, drinking, prostitutes and drugs. He really does not care whether or not he lives.

  66. Artie's Stomach Says:

Put Gilbert in there for the news everyday, dont need Artie.

  67. artiefan Says:

plenty people to fill the spot…. no one can replace him though..

  68. Jeff Says:

I love Gilbert but I think his mind goes to some really weird places sometimes, Once a week or so would be ok. Rotation seems like best idea unless Howard decides to resign

  69. EminemsRevenge Says:

i first started listening to Stern on AFTERNOON drive, and with the constant repeat you’d never miss a show…it’d be even more soap opera-ish—you’re left in suspense until the next day.

As for Artie being suicidal—i don’t think so. i think he just needs to beat the crap out of someone to get his head back together—a good night of barroom brawling:)

  70. Greg Says:

High Pitch Mike should take over arties chair!

  71. Kamie Says:

Oh stop it - the show will go on. Just like it went on without Jackie, Billy West, Stuttering John. Seriously.

  72. artiefan Says:

He might not be suicidal but if he went on a binge, he could die.

The replays would start later in the day though… with the show starting at 6am, allows the replays to begin earlier.

Forget trying to listen to the replay at night.

  73. artiefan Says:

    Kamie is spot on.

  74. Jwm Logjammin' Says:

Didnt Artie say he was going to leave the show this summer anyway?

  75. artiefan Says:

He was already supposed to be gone if you believed what he says.

  76. Jeff Says:

at same time lets see what happens after vacation maybe a suspension with forced anger managment I mean look what happend to jackie

  77. monte Says:

    they better play the replay

  78. Jwm Logjammin' Says:

What the hell would he do?

  79. artiefan Says:

Artie wouldn’t go to therapy to save Dana … never mind go to therapy to stay working with a shitty 4am schedule.

  80. Jwm Logjammin' Says:

    Letterman’s sidekick

  81. artiefan Says:

He has to do therapy for himself…. not for anything else.

  82. Kamie Says:

The “I’m leaving” bit is also a ploy for attention. When you were a kid, didn’t you pout and say “I”m leaving” to get attention? Or “I hate you, Mom”. I know I did. It’s like: look at me. The only way that Howard should let him back is if Artie agreed to go to months and months of rehab. Short of that, they should not let him back on. It would be a dangerous workplace otherwise. I”ll tell you what, I would love to have a job where I could fall asleep during a meeting.

  83. Jwm Logjammin' Says:

Email assistant for the Late Night

  84. Greg Says:

Artie really adds something different then the others who left, due to being on Sirius and being able to curse and tell his f’d up stories, he’s really been just as part of the show as Howard has. The show really would miss him.

  85. Kamie Says:

Greg, I agree with you, but Howard would have to step it up a bit. Since Artie came, he has spoken less because he could. In fact, that is/was one of the things that annoyed me about Artie.

  86. Jwm Logjammin' Says:

He has turned into a huge prick lately

  87. Switch625 Says:

I’m trying to catch it on the West Coast feed. Was it after their impromptu dance competition?

  88. artiefan Says:

listen at 11 am on 101 , you should catch it.

  89. Matt S. Says:

wow man…I can’t wait to hear this on the replay! Artie has been beside himself lately. I think it’s time Artie take a break for a few months in Italy and get his life together.

  90. mjcane Says:

    after…

  91. dave Says:

    it’s not drugs!
artie has a high blood pressure problem… it has to do with his weight… he needs to get with a cardiologist and be put on meds to regulate his blood pressure… he won’t become so overwhelmed with anger when he does.

  92. artiefan Says:

It will get worse before it gets better.

  93. mjcane Says:

Dude, blood pressure has nothing to do with someone getting angry. If that was the case, there would be a lot more ass whippings on the streets on a daily basis. Artie doesn’t like himself or his life, that is why he is angry. Pure and simple.

  94. Switch625 Says:

They shouldn’t replace him at all. If he truly is gone, then they should just finish out Sirius the way they started, with Howard, Robin, and Fred. I loved Artie, but lately he’s been a prick. It would be great if Jackie came back, but that would never happen. Howard has already said so.

  95. Greg Says:

this is the 9/11 of the show

  96. mjcane Says:

Artie was on the show before Sirius, for them to finish the way they started, Artie would have be back.

  97. meech Says:

Artie’s problem is all the yentas on the show constantly telling him what to do. At the same age Artie is now: Howard was divorcing, unfit, hiding in his basement and depressed; Robin was fat, freaking out, and sending interns away in tears; and Fred was blowing up at everyone and everything.

Nothing is worse than knowing that you need to get your stuff together and yet having a never-ending onslaught of “advice”.

Artie should take a break from the show, fire his manager, hire professional assistant who can oversee his schedule and the construction of the house, and let his money work for himself, instead of the other way around. He needs to refocus his life on his needs and drop all the hanger-ons in his life.

  98. Matt S. Says:

    “it’s not drugs!
artie has a high blood pressure problem… it has to do with his weight… he needs to get with a cardiologist and be put on meds to regulate his blood pressure… he won’t become so overwhelmed with anger when he does.”

Are you kidding? Yeah, and Riley Martin had “Food Poisoning” during the Killers of Comedy event in Jersey!

  99. mjcane Says:

Do you think Lisa G will still go dancing with Artie?

  100. meech Says:

Yesterday’s show was so infuriating. While he was sleeping all they did was yenta it up and make fat jokes. It’s no wonder that he had a meltdown today.

  101. Kamie Says:

What are they supposed to do when someone is sleeping through work AGAIN??? Not make fun of him? Let him rest because he is tired?

  102. ☆Ponyboy☆ Says:

Artie is very sick, and this has been a long time coming. He hasn’t been funny in months and has become a bloated, drug-addled caricature of himself…just like Chris Farley before him. He has already scored heroin, no doubt.

  103. Artie's Arse Says:

As soon as Artie repeatedly started calling Teddy a Fag and Faggot, Howard should have backed off. That was a big sign that Artie was losing it, after all the shit Artie has taken from the PSA, Lifebeat & Crumbs Bakery, George Takei, etc for using those words. Howard knows how to push buttons and Artie’s are as big as his waistline…

  104. Daner Says:

That dinner in Amsterdam sounds about has fun as AIDS.

Matt, maybe you should register the URL http://www.savejimflorentine.com

  105. artiefan Says:

    lmao!

  106. Kamie Says:

OK - so let me understand something. So, it was HOWARD’S fault that Artie blew up?

  107. Greg Says:

over/under on how many subutex artie has taken by now? 7?

  108. Switch625 Says:

mjcane: I was referring to the show as a whole, not just the Sirius years.

  109. artiefan Says:

    Its not Howie’s fault.

Maybe he is out of subutex?

  110. robin's egg Says:

Imagine the therapist who finally gets Artie to open up…if he lives that long.

He has so much anger toward his father I’m surprised that it’s taken this long to explode.

  111. Jon from CT Says:

From the day Artie got hired Howard went out of his way to make him self destruct. Is the correct term “enabler”? Howard kept feeding him (figurately & literally) to fall deeper and deeper in trouble. Everyone who works for Howard falls apart. Love the show…but still…

And “meech” is right, Howard, Robin, and Fred were no better off in life when they were Artie’s age.

  112. Chunky-C Says:

Man, for the first time today, I don’t like Artie. This is it — he’s either going to self destruct or finally start doing something to help himself. Fuck.

  113. artiefan Says:

Any regular job - Artie would have been fired a long time ago.. and if not, definitely now.

  114. ☆Ponyboy☆ Says:

I have loved Artie for years. I personally thought bringing him on kept Howard’s show youthful and propelled it to even greater heights. No more. Artie makes millions of dollars a year and treats everyone around him like complete, utter shit. He thinks he can throw money at any problem and it will disappear. He seems to think he can buy everyone like a $200 crack whore in Vegas, and proud people don’t like to be treated like that. His homophobia runs so deep, this has been brewing for some time now. I only hope he gets some really good ‘H’ today to settle him down.

  115. Artie's Arse Says:

No, Artie doesn’t have self-control in anything in his life. But Howard definitely poked and prodded him there. After seeing Artie’s extreme reaction to Sal (throwing the CD case at his head), Howard should know better than try to exacerbate the situation. The blame is definitely with Artie but Howard is not blameless…

  116. artiefan Says:

they didnt get to play the Animated PSA today did they?

  117. mjcane Says:

I feel like I need to take a Xanax to listen to this. The butterflies are similar to the ones I had before kick off to the Super Bowl.

  118. Jon from CT Says:

Ever since Artie got hired Howard went out of his way to make him self destruct. Is the correct term “enabler”? Howard fed him (figurately & literally) down this path. It’s like Howard wants to ruin him to make himself look/feel better. Everyone who works for Howard winds up worse off. Love the show…but…

And, “meech” is right. Howard, Robin, and Fred were no better off when they were Artie’s age. Who are they to critize?

  119. Who Cares Says:

Fuck Artie! FUck Sal! Fuck Richard Christy! The show has jumped the shark. Bring back Jackie, Billy West so we can have bits, parodies and interviews without Artie stepping on Howards words with his tired “coke” stories.

  120. ☆Ponyboy☆ Says:

Howard is not “blameless”, but this is what he does! He “pokes the bear”…he gets the worst out of people. The whole model of Howard’s show is to push and push and push for fan reaction. Howard doesn’t even care if people hate what he puts on (see: Ralph), he just wants the REACTION.

  121. artiefan Says:

THE REPLAY IS GOING TO BE ON ANY MINUTE ON HOWARD 101 NOW… im feeling sick just thinking about it.

  122. Florida Booey Says:

THEY NEED TO CONDUCT AN INTERVENTION. STAT.

This was some of the most out of control radio I’ve ever heard on Stern, and that’s saying something. Artie is in serious, life-threatening danger. This is not funny any more. It wasn’t really funny yesterday, either.

  123. Kamie Says:

Granted, Howard and Robin and Fred had issues, but there is no comparison to Artie. Rehab? Coke? Heroin? Jail? Hookers? Bookies? I mean, you have got to be kidding me.

  124. Who Cares Says:

@ArtieFan, seriously what is the big loss? Artie writes nothing for howard, provides no bits, attacks co-workers, steps on Howard when he is taking, even during interviews and can you name one “joke” that Artie Lange has ever said that people remember? I mean seriously the guy is known to make us laugh for his drug stories, like the babewatch story, but it’s sad now that he’s living through it. I’m a fan of 20 years and miss when the show had bits like the whole gang on Gilligan’s Island or Robin Quivers in INDECENT PROPOSAL w/wood-yi. The show now is just Artie Eating and whining about making money that he earns cause he’s just on Stern. Once the Stern scent wears off Artie he will be done. And I say best of luck to his health but bring back Jackie, Billy West and KC…the classic days !!!

  125. ☆Ponyboy☆ Says:

Artie’s time on the show has passed. So what? It’s no big deal in the grand scheme. It has happened before, it will happen again. Just keep the show youthful. Bring in Dave Attel or someone actually FUNNY.

  126. ☆Ponyboy☆ Says:

If Jackie comes back, I’ll never listen again. He’s an UNFUNNY, OLD MAN. He can’t relate to younger people. He’s just plain OLD. I don’t even listen to “best of” shows. I want new, I want next.

Artie’s presence gave a welcome breath of fresh air to the show. Howie needs to find that next guy, not the old guy.

  127. beltwaybrian Says:

I call BULLSHIT. From the first moment this felt like a bit. They’re out next week, and just like last time when Artie was walking out…and the drama builds and the News Department gets a “story” to work on for a week. This is a sham. And the way everybody is freaking out…I think They All Do Prostest Too Much. Bullshit. Next Monday it’ll all be a big laugh. Either that or Artie will off himself this upcoming week.

  128. BrittNYC Says:

    Here’s the thing…
I will tell you why I blame Artie:

Teddy seems like a real sweetheart but is NOT equiped to be a personal assistant to someone in Artie’s position.

I’ve been a personal assistant to some high profile personalities. Not only is it not a easy job (some people think that it’s all glamour when it’s not at all). The goal of a personal assistant is to do everything possible to make your employers life very easy and make your employer look real good. Having 12 years experience with some difficult boss’ I don’t know if I could handle Artie!

I blame Artie bc he knew Teddy could not provide the service he needed. He should have let him go a very long time ago. He was just too lazy to hire someone new.

  129. Who Cares Says:

@pony boy GOOD CALL on Dave Attel, the guy is creative and knows his role. Artie just yaks the whole time , eats , grunts and sleeps during the show. THe guy doesnt give a fuck about the show or its fans. I could never figure out what the big deal is…or I guess I should say WAS..

  130. Who Cares Says:

@pony boy. As far as Jackie being “unfunny” , I have to agree his comedy routine was terrible but he wrote alot of classic bits and lines for Stern. If you listend around late 80’s you would hear people complain “oh good line Jackie” because Howard would say something hilarious that Jackie wrote. Judy Tetuna, Richard Lewis, Richard Belzer, Gilbert Gottfried, Sam Kinison they all said it and respected Jackie. Artie is just a guy who rode Norm McDonald’s coat tails to Howard Stern’s Coat tails and now will either drop dead or latch on to …idk…David Spade or someone…who cares.

  131. Massala Says:

Fuck that pampered bloated Guinea. Who else has a job where you get paid to sleep?

Hey Artie, go out back and do the honorable thing. You are embarrassing the show, your family and yourself.

    Bring back the Jokeman!

  132. lastangelman Says:

    eVERYONE PAY THEIR LAST RESPECTS.
    He’s gone.
    And he ain’t comin’ back.

  133. D-Man Says:

    Just listened to the replay.

Yep….Artie’s an ASS!!! 100% pure bred ASS.

He deserves no respect. He deserves no success.

ASS is an awfully generous and kind word to describe him.

  134. ☆Ponyboy☆ Says:

I know self-destructive personalities like Artie. Deep down he wants this to happen. He feels free right now. (maybe that’s the ‘H’) He wants to be able to point to this as the moment the wheels came off his life. That house he’s building on the Jersey shore? Gone. Everyone who was his “friend” because of the show? Gone. His career? Gone. Maybe he’ll get an hour on 101 in a year or so.

  135. mjcane Says:

Howard does like the fight. But Artie is at fault for his actions.

  136. Kamie Says:

ON the wrap up show, GAry just swore on the life of his children that this was not a bit

  137. artiefan Says:

No way its a bit. The reactions were so raw, they’d all have to be the best actors ever.

  138. ☆Ponyboy☆ Says:

I have been thinking a lot of things are mere ‘bits’ these days. The Sal/emotional friend thing never seemed genuine to me. Artie’s not that good an actor to pull of this as a bit, IMO

  139. Jeff Says:

i guess thats straight from the horses mouth kamie

  140. Lee Roy Jackson Says:

Artie is an ungrateful piece of crap, he is out of control. There are about a million people that he can be replaced with. Trust me I’ve seen he act, can you say overrated!! Sal was right he walks around like he is the king of comedy, and everyone has to anwser to him. He gets away with so much crap it’s unbeliveable, we are the paying customers for the Sirius product, and we pay for the employees, entertainers to at least show up to work,or not fall asleep! F him! See Ya Fat ass

  141. Chris Says:

When is Artie supposed to leave for Amsterdam? Is this a bit?

  142. BrittNYC Says:

I don’t think this was a bit at all. Although, I do think Artie sleeping yesterday was a complete and utter bit. It was lame too!

  143. artiefan Says:

they werent leaving this early in the day… alot of the guys in the back office were leaving as well.. so its no bit.

  144. Who Cares Says:

nah it’s not a bit. The guy is a mess and really who cares? What are we missing , more drug addict stories? I want bits and parodies, not Sal and Richard doing a JERKY BOYS impression and a bad one at that. Stern cares about himself first…..if you guys do your research google KC ARMSTRONG INTERVIEW. Read how Stern didn’t fire KC who had drug issues …but TOM CHIUASANO did. I love stern since I was a teenager but PEOPLE WAKE UP…Stern cares about himself first…..otherwise we would not have lost JOKE/BILLY WEST/RICHARD SIMMONS…Classic Stern….I cancelled HOWARD TV and it may be time to D/L Stern shows off the internet.

  145. Chris Says:

Is this was planned so Artie could leave early for his trip then it is brilliant if only for the interest it creates.

  146. mjcane Says:

WTF?! After Teddy tells Howard that he didn’t want to come in, Stern says, “You shouldn’ve”!!

He called for Teddy 4 times! Douche.

  147. Chester Says:

Artie is nutz, Teddy is not stealing from him. Artie is loning or giving him extra money. Artie might be a big teddy bear but he is also a very difficult person to deal with. Lets see Artie live on the money Teddy makes working 2 jobs, 80 hours a week.

  148. Jon from CT Says:

If he gets replaced who would like to see? I’d love to see Craig Gass in the studio.

  149. Chris Says:

    Andy Dick cant shut up.

  150. ☆Ponyboy☆ Says:

Dave Attel or maybe Dave Chapelle for a little while. Black it up a bit…;)

  151. Mike Says:

Is this the best America can present? The economy is tanking fast, you’re job (assuming you have one) will soon be gone, the war is costing big bucks, many lives with no end in sight, the president is in some sort of Chaney trance, and you people are concerned about the Howard Stern “Reality” Show? Sad, very sad!

  152. Chris Says:

Greg Fitzsimmons vs. Dave Navarro winner gets the seat for a day

  153. Chester Says:

I loved when hey were looking for someone and had new people in all the time

  154. Chester Says:

Hey Mike go whine somewhere else

  155. Kamie Says:

Well Mike - if that is the case, what are you doing posting on this board?

  156. ☆Ponyboy☆ Says:

Mike, you’re the one that sought out this blog. Why don’t you save the world wherever else YOU see fit.

  157. Danny NT Says:

    Mike,
    Moonbat alert!!

  158. Kamie Says:

Mike has a Prius, for sure

  159. Chester Says:

Some people are taking a break from there 12 hour daily grinds, and want to forget the US is in turmoil and are retirments a flying out the window

  160. Chris Says:

    lmao mike

  161. Chris Says:

Do you make prank calls Mike? whats the website?

  162. Switch625 Says:

    Cheney is hot.

  163. Danny NT Says:

I hope we dont hear on the news about Arties overdose!

  164. MilehighTy Says:

Calm down everyone. Before we all fly off the handle on him let’s just look at the fact that he is a human at the end of the day. Sometimes we all get our plate piled up to much and loose it. I think this weekend he will blow some steam off and come back and be level headed. It made great radio regardless, but the 4th wall was broken, and it sucks, but it will be all back to normal come next monday.

  165. ☆Ponyboy☆ Says:

I only found this blog yesterday, (after hearing about it on the show) but there are more knowledgeable people here than on that moron-infested SFN. One visit there proves you never need go back.

  166. ☆Ponyboy☆ Says:

They are on vacation next week. Artie has a whole week of self-destruction before he needs to be accountable to anyone but himself, if that.

  167. J Says:

Artie is a codependent, insecure crybaby bully. That said, before he spun this far out of control, he was an integral component of the show. Bringing back Jackie would be a disaster; media moves forward not backward. Dave Attell is a great suggestion.

  168. Chester Says:

My break is over, but PONYBOY is right this is much better than SFN… hopefully it stays this way… See you all next time

  169. Claybuster Says:

I love Artie! Like others have said, Artie is human and just reached a breaking point and blew up. It’s not right, but it’s shouldn’t be something he can’t be forgiven for. Good Luck Art!

  170. ctyanks23 Says:

Maybe Artie saw the animation on Save Baby Gorilla and it put him over the edge. SBG killed Artie!

  171. James Says:

Hey Mike, before you start ranting about the decline of America, try learning proper English grammar lest you be an ironic example of that purported decline.

  172. Chris Says:

Artie is tough. Fighting a heroin addiction proves it. He’s not mad at Teddy but himself. He will be ok, and will return the professional he is.

  173. Kamie Says:

Yea, but Ty, when your plate gets piled high and you lose it, then maybe you go yell at someone and stomp out of the room and take a long drive. You don’t physically assault someone at work FOR THE SECOND TIME. Throwing that CD at Sal was a physical assault. Ask Russell Crowe.

  174. Brian from Bloomingdale Says:

    HIRE GILBERT!!!!!

  175. Greg Says:

News Headline: Artie Lange kills assistant Teddie on airplane to Amsterdam!

  176. ☆Ponyboy☆ Says:

gilbert?? I get more than enough of his bad dracula bit once every 6 months or so.

  177. Chris Says:

    yeah Gilbert loves a paycheck

  178. Florida Booey Says:

    To use a wrestling analogy:

“Wait A Minute! What’s that?!? That sounds like JACKIE MARTLING’S music!”

    Buckle up, people.

Dumb question: They are not on vacation next week, are they? They will have to deal with this on Monday, right?

  179. Chris Says:

Teddy: passenger to amsterdam, cargo to U.S.

  180. Chris Says:

    Is Jim Florentine available?

  181. Punchline Magazine Blog » Did Artie Lange really quit the Howard Stern Show? Says:

[…] a much more detailed what-the-happened, check out SaveBabyGorilla, a blog on all things […]

  182. i hate allison Says:

they would never hire florentine. If anybody it’s going to be fitzsimmons or attell. I really hope it’s attell dude is the best comedian out there, but it’ll probably be that cocksucker dane cook haha. Listen artie is wrong for what he did and he’s depressed and can’t hold on to a good thing ever. He’s still upset about his dad which is justifiable, but he can’t be attacking everyone. Howard wants no blame ever but that fucking guy definitely made this bigger then it had to be. I really doubt artie is coming back at all. If nobody takes the chair for awhile the show is going to suck. Howard knows he needs artie because he doesn’t want to put in the time to make the show better himself. Artie was the best era of stern radio. Hope he makes it back from amsterdam.

  183. lou fragianolia Says:

ARTIE MAYBE A FAT SLOB FUCKUP…BUT MANY PEOPLE RELATE TO HIM AND LIKE HIM…THEY EVEN LIKE HIS VOLITLE WAYS….HOWARD WILL TRY TO KEEP HIM…THE PUPPET MASTER ENJOYS PLACING HIS HAND UP THE PUPPET’S ASS!

THE ENTIRE SHOW IS A SHOW ABOUT FREAKY SHIT….THIS JERRY SPRINGER EPISODE IS PURE GOLD FOR THE STERNMEISTER & HIS GANG OF ODDBALLS…………

EVERYONE KNOWS ARTIE IS UNSTABLE PORK-LOIN

BUT AS A LISTENER HE IS OUR UNSTABLE PORK-LOIN!….HE WILL STAY ON THE SHOW…THIS IS PURE THEATER………..THE CURTAIN WILL RISE AGAIN!

  184. Who Cares Says:

what makes me laugh is that alot people here know nothing about the show. Jackie is a big reason Stern got to where he is. The Ch. 9 show has Jackie all over it. The Munsters bit, Stutering john questions, dissing Ralph for being a fag, Gary song parodies ….the list goes on. Seriously, do your research before you put down Jackie a guy who was and is the true BEATLES OF COMEDY with Stern , QUivers, Norris. A great team that should finish off the contract.

  185. BETTYBIGTITS Says:

    lou f. is right on

Artie make huge bucks being everybody’s loser buddy…fat unkept and slob-like…who doesn’t like to laugh at that guy…….he makes us all feel better of course it is at his expense…but he is getting paid big bucks to be/act/ this way….

Artie swuck my big tits as long as you want!

  186. MilehighTy Says:

Kamie I agree when I get stressed out I don’t throw things or verbally assult someone, I usually walk away and take some time for myself. But if Arti was to leave people would raz him for that and say he can’t hold a job, so I think he is in a no win situation. When I lived in California I knew people who worked in L.A. for Fox and knew Arti from when he worked on Madtv. He is the kind of guy who wears his emotions on his sleeve, and everyone who worked with him said he was an amzing guy, but at the same time he could get crazy and a runner for the show said he stomped off of set a few times. I beleive he was on major drugs at the time, but it was for the same reason. With that being said I think he could have handled it better, but it happens, and no matter what he does leave stay people will always have something negative ot say about it.

  187. Jackie Puppet Says:

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OH! OH! OH!

Let’s have Jackie Puppet on Mondays, Gilbert on Tuesday, Dice on Wednesdays and Martling on Thursdays.

  188. Who Cares Says:

Artie Lange has done nothing for the show , what has he written? He talks about his drug stories…hmmmm…Jackie used to do the same…Artie has relationship issues and talks about it on air…hmm…Jackie and his wife Nancy discussions….come on people, Artie Lange is over-rated. He shows ZERO respect for the show and the fans !!!!!!!! ….Sleep
