I have to say, I am listening to the replay…After reading about the Sirius/XM merger ok’d by the FCC, I would have expected to hear an excited Howard talking about how dreams came true, faith has been restored, etc. Instead the fucker pusses out and says ‘I am reserving comment’ and then they continue on to other topics…WTF? How many years as fans have we been hearing him bitch…on a DAILY basis about this merger, about how they are geting robbed, etc…And if finally goes through and he has the fucking nerve to say ‘Reserving comment’. BULLSHIT to the 10th power!
WTF! Im flipping, litterally in my chair over this reaction from this no good bum of a DJ. All that hype, all that talk, all that nagging bullshit that he spewed about the government, FCC, everything.
Man, fuck this guy! What an ungrateful asshole. There is no doubt now in my mind that Howard made his nut with Sirius and is taking his money and running. He doesnt care about us the listeners, he doesnt care about Mel like he says, he only cares about his wallet. I have lost my faith in Howard, once and for all.
Sad to hear Artie being fake with these guys, he should call Howard on it. Fuck this b.s.

I don’t think Howard or anyone for that matter is pussing out. Coming from the business world and working for companies that merged together, just because they have this approval doesn’t mean it’s finished. There are still a few hurdles to jump before they are in the clear. I’m sure Howard has good reasons both professionally and personally for not making any statements at this time. We should just all be happy that the big step (The FCC approval) is past.

Rev is right, a lot has changed since XM and Sirius agreed to the merger, (or Buy Out) I’m sure they will renegotiate the deal at this point now that they know what the companies are worth at this time, and seeing as how bad the economy is doing.
Nothing is final yet.

i agree with the last two comments. i own stock in sirius and i expected a big jump in pricing this morning, but instead there was a noticeable decline in value. From what recent articles I have read, they are quite concerned about the potential right now of XM-Sirius following the merger. Remember, its 17 months later, the economy is doing poorly, new car sales have slowed, there is even more competition in internet radio, Ipod, etc. and both companies appear to be racked with debt. I still believe Sirius Satellite is the future of radio, but that future just looks very bleak and cloudy right now….

What can you honestly expect Howard to say? If all he’s heard is the same as everyone else (that it has been approved), then he really can’t say anything more. There will be plenty of time for getting excited when they ACTUALLY MERGE, but this isn’t the time.

OK, new topic…..
Does anyone think Artie was really surprised at Robin’s news today about not being with Jim anymore, or do you think he already knew???
July 28th, 2008 at 5:42 pm
I didn’t think about that, but now that I think back you’re probably right…he knew.

I think the robin-jimmy merger was always a goof that jim let get out of hand.He stuck with the bit long enough to make it look sincere.
July 28th, 2008 at 6:51 pm
Artie probably got a long report in afgan.from Jim about what robin really thinks about him and others on the show and now robin is terrified at what might get revealed

Listening to the story of that guy that was imprisoned for 28 years and he was INNOCENT…OMG. That dude needs to write a book, I was facinated with this entire story. I dont know how that guy is calm enough to talk in a normal voice. I would hope that Dominic might have called in to help defend this guy…That was crazy.

Quivertine is dissolved. Luckily I had no stock in this entity, as both of the new companies are down in value of around 5-11%.
whew, dodged that bullet.
I can’t lie, I liked that merger because it provided a lot of entertainment…but, this dissolution can provide even more—for a long time.
