The Other Side of Laughter Part 2
The continuation of the Hudson Reporter’s article on Artie has been published. Read it here.
“If I retired, I don’t know what I’d do either,” said Lange. “If and when I have children - and I hope to someday - they would probably have a house like this, and they’d have a boat. They’d go waterskiing. By the time they got older, hopefully, they’d go to the next level and have some sort of important job. I think my kids would know how to relax more.”
He added, “I grew up with more than my father had. I’m a little better at relaxing. When my father fell [during a construction job; see Part I], I was 18 and all that relaxation went out the window. I hope to have kids because I’d like to see someone in my family relax, even if it’s 25 years from now.”

Does that really surprise you?

Does Bob Sagat need a roast? His life has been painful to watch for years, do we really need to bring in professional comics to make fun of his career, I mean three drunks on the corner could come up with material…

I think Bob has put enough time in on the road over the years as well as created a huge name back in the day on TV. Let it roll!!

Yeah Biker (always Mr. Positive) it is surprising. Sure he may fall asleep on the air or not even show up for the Stern show, but he’s not one to miss stand-up gigs. Countless people have testified to his work ethic in that regard. And especially not gigs with a national tv audience that would help his career progress.
I think on a H 100 news brief they mentioned he had some more deadlines to meet with his book and a couple other stand-up appearances to make. I can’t wait for Too Fat to Fish. I bet Biker buys 15 copies!!

Interesting fact some of you might not be aware of… Bob Saget was the one who directed Dirty Work which not only did Artie Lange co-star in but was, of course, the movie where Artie was originally dubbed baby gorilla by Don Rickles. As far as I can tell, that movie is quite possibly the only contribution Bob Saget has ever made to comedy, period.

Artie Roast on the replay was fuckin great. I remember coming home from work listening to it, and I don’t mind this Sirius so far special, I think it’s good.

I can’t forget Bob being involved in one of my favorite scenes in the movie Half Baked where Bob says “Marijuana is not a drug. I used to suck dick for coke. Now that’s an addiction. You ever suck some dick for marijuana? ” LOL

Yeah the Artie Roast doesn’t get old. I loved watching all the drunken backstage antics of Richard and Sal when I had Howard TV. I was reminded of it when listening to the replay and Howards asks Richard what he’s had to drink. Richard replies, “I’ve had 9 beers, 2 vodka’s, and a saki.” Howard says he needs to be cut off and Richard says, “Yeah, I’m gonna slow down.” Slow down–LOL

OMG…I forgot about the tiny midget’s order for a hit..too fuckin funny
August 5th, 2008 at 10:00 am
The amount of Artie’s books I will order will be 0. Positive? I’m positive he’ll be dead in less that two years if he keeps going the way he is. I’ve seen this drug addicted sloth walking around his shore house which I live a couple of blocks from. Can you say a scene from Night Of The Living Dead?

Hearing some show cancellations on Howard 100 news too, The Saget Roast, a show at Levy’s. Possibly the Foxwoods show, glad I decided to pass on going.

Artie’s gotta do, what Artie’s gotta do. (Or in this case ‘dont want to do’)
I bet he had chest pains…

Foxwoods ? Hmm. I was just speaking with Teddy yesterday via email about the show - he said nothing about cancellation.

Sagat is also hysterical in “The Arstocrats.” And on “Entourage.”
August 5th, 2008 at 2:51 pm
Perez Hilton is asking Stern fans if Artie’s in rehab.

lol, I saw Half Baked when Comedy Central first started playing it and it must have been censored. I distinctly remember Bob Saget saying he used to “suck toes for coke”, the original version would have been a lot funnier. Never saw the Aristocrats, but knew he was in it and have seen Gilbert Gottfried’s scene.

you’re a real a-hole there, “biker”
