Wednesday’s Show
- Artie maybe joining Robin for the Joan Rivers roast on Comedy Central. Artie admitted that he still gets really nervous for those types of gigs.
- While ripping on Scott, Howard caught Artie standing up to stretch and prompted him to ask what he was doing, saying it was bothering him. Robin chimed in that Artie has never done that before. Artie joked, “Do you want me to start taking heroin again?” Either Howard was doing shtick or he is completely neurotic this morning.
- Howard was pressing Scott about where he will work when there is no more Howard Stern show. Scott said that he could open for Artie. Artie replied, “Open for me? I’m not going to have any more gigs either when he leaves.”
- Artie was on the wrap-up show today.
In Other Show News:
- Ian Halperin in studio today talking about his book on Michael Jackson. Ian says that he thought he was a child molester when he first started his research but after came to the conclusion he was not. Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson Howard joked at the end of the segment that the author needed to write a book about Artie to find out what he is up to.

I haven’t listened from the beginning this morning but it seems that Howard is really conflicted about ending the show. Guilt for his staff not having a job? Needs to add another day during the week for a shrink
Gary and robin will easily find other jobs. Fred, probably also, not sure doing the same thing, but the guy has brains. The rest of ‘em, good luck.
What the heck would Robin do? She couldnt even get a TV show off the ground at the height of her career. I can see her just retiring.
They could all go work for Jason Ellis, his show is the best thing on Sirius.
Artie wasn’t stretching….he stood up hoping to get Howard’s attention…he’s trying a new approach where he doesn’t interrupt, verbally…now it’s physical.
The Ian Halperin segment is really good.
Why does this Ian Halperin guy keep berating the callers who say MJ was a bad influence on kids. Two callers, including the buzz-saw Maryann from Brooklyn were shouted down with ’show me one shred of evidence he was bad to kids’ and yet he turns around saying that MJ gave kids alcohol. I would say that is the ‘one piece’ of evidence that you need. Not to mention that Michael Jackson was a FUCKING LUNATIC!
What the fuck is wrong with people, they hear an author who is a fan of the guy say a few nice things and all of a sudden everything we seen with our own eyes (dangling that kid from the balcony for one) becomes doubtful.
Wow, what a fucking magician this Ian guy is, he is weaving a spell for some Jackson Juice and people are drinking it in. Lets see, he admitted MJ was anti-semetic, a junkie, likes to sleep with little boys, loves Nazi’s, gives booze and hooch to under age kids…Yeah, he’s candidate for father of the year. Sheesh.
@AF yes GREAT segment
@FFFF you have to scream fucking lunatic and defend maryann –> wouldn’t you agree that to non-Stern fans, Maryann would be considered a crazy, obsessed fan who shouldn’t have kids? If not, it’s pretty clear from all of your text that you have some family issues close to you yourself. Good luck.
AlphaRaider -> what do you think? Not knowing you personally, but knowing that you have a recovering drug-abuser son and that you are kind enough to share some of your personal story, I’d like your opinion on the Ian interview & whether Maryann is in any position to comment.
Much respect to you all – I enjoy reading your opinions (especially about our beloved BG).
If Artie Baba Booey’s that first pitch, should he be allowed to go back on heroin?
I thought Maryann had a right as anyone else to comment and what was not pointed out was OBVIOUS, how could Michael Jackson be a good person to watch kids, or be a parent if he was such a drug addict as the author admitted.?
@AF do u have kids? I understand that point of view. I think Michael Jackson clearly had issues and I feel for his “kids” but just from the supermarket, I see many people (maybe even most) that have serious deficiencies in the child-raising department. I completely agree that MJ is not the parent of the year, I just wonder why stating the obvious is a sport.
Haha Steve Langford taking the week off during Artie’s trial.
I do not have kids. But I don’t think the kids that are not his should be at the house of a drug addict. Would you let your kids sleep over their friends house .. maybe, what if the parents were known drug addicts. Would you feel comfortable that they could act in the case of an emergency?
@Elvis of Dallas: Is my calling Maryanne from Brooklyn a ‘buzzsaw’ defending her? Lol.
Im not trying to turn this into SFN with tit-for-tat, but your inept reading of my post requires me to at least point this much out to you. Put on your glasses, open your Big Book of Reading Comprehension and look up a lot of the stuff you are having problems understanding. People that spend too much time in chatrooms and messaging on the internet always read caps as shouting, however my intention was to simply EMPHASIZE the point. But thanks anyway for the attempt to psychoanalyze me and my family.
If you want to know about my past and family, I always had a mom at home who doted on me all the time, I got everything I wanted whenever I asked and was an Eagle Scout, made straight A’s, saved a family from a burning house, am considered the Midwests ‘Best Friend of all Animals’, I am renowned amongst my freinds as a person that doesnt ‘double dip’ in communal salsa, I was once in a guitar duel with the devil for my soul…AND WON!, also I am an awarded Philanthropist in the area of ‘Befriending and Benefiting Internet Morons’. So NYAH!
@AF I completely agree. Drug addicts are not proper parents.
@FFFF weak.
I’m going back to my hole; thanks @AF for the laughs. Not interested in playing with SFNers anywhere.
I agree why all the discussion on MJ? If looking at MJ doesn;t make you want to keep your kids away from him your a fucking moron.
I’m listening to the west coast feed-haven’t heard the Halperin interview yet. It’s coming on right now.
The first hour of the show almost put me to sleep-I don’t fucking care about a radio station that Howie used to work at that went under and it certainly didn’t merit nearly an hour of commentary!
When I heard Artie was standing up a lot, I thought he was doing blow.
I can’t believe I am saying this but I think Robin has been great this week. A lot of good one-liners. Confident without being condescending.
And Lawyer, Ellis is great. I now listen to him instead of the Bubba the Love Sponge Florida discussion show Mon-Thurs.
I want to thank Howard for lying his butt off about the future of Sirius. He knows it will die without him, since it is barely alive with him. Why would anyone want to pay 15 bucks a month for music channels when you can get free music channels from other places, like AOL? Frankly, AOL Radio, other than lack of Howard, is way better than Sirius.
Oh, yeah, I’m sure movie theaters will love to use Sirius satellites to get movies sent to them. People flock to theaters on rainy days but the signal for their movie won’t be able to break through the clouds.
I’m glad I did not bother paying for July. I hate hearing Howard drone on about how he’s leaving. Do it already. If not, get the hell on with the show.
Robin could join The View.
Howard should just go to fuckin’ showitme or hbo. With the Howard TV model already in place, it would be a no brainer to do a morning show on a pay cable channel. They can still sell the audio braodcast rights and they wouldn’t be locked into the sinking ship that is Sirius.
Sounds like he is sick of Artie’s crap, doesn’t give a f**k about Artie anymore but Howard doesn’t want to deal with it. He won’t fire Artie cause he knows he will feel guilty. He may just start making more negative comments to annoy Artie so he quits again.
Sirius fell off, and so did Howard. He has no drive anymore. $500 millionaires don’t have a drive to succeed, especially at his advanced age. He always complains how easy everyone else has it, like late night talk shows, or game show hosts. He seems more miserable than ever. I don’t mean the good kind of miserable where he is yelling at everyone, just the depressed guy where he wants to rush through the show to get it over with. He is constantly cutting everyone off now, even Robin to get the show moving.
Listening to the show at noon on 100.
Howard is going on and on about WBCN and WJFK.
Let the negotiations begin for the next contract……..”I was the anchor of all of these stations throughout the country”…..”Its such an obvious thing”.
He is going no where. He is levering his importance to Sirius ala Simon Cowell.
I didn’t hear the whole show yet, but I gotta say I like mary ann from brooklyn. No, not her voice, or general wackiness, but when she chimes in seriously, she is usually not off base. I love when she gives artie shit, and she can take it too. The crow thing is still funny to me also.
Robin, as much as I don’t her (ooops), can easily continue on radio and possibly tv. She’s not a hideous beast and plenty of industry execs would be willing to exploit the fact that she was howards side kick for ?? Years. I could totally see her on the view.
Sirius is going under when Howard leaves. (its already tanking with him there)
If a provider is able to deliver fast two-way internet to cars (for continuous feeds of audio), Sirius will die and Howard will be a part of the two-way data revolution.
Today’s show was decent. Tuesday’s was much better than Monday’s.
It’s hard to believe how quickly the week ends. Tomorrow’s the last new show til Monday.. damn!
Maryann’s general wackiness is fun and while I can sometimes agree with something she says, it’s amusing when someone takes her seriously. She is an obsessive fan and even though she seems harmless, if she was a fan of another performer, she’d already be locked up under stalking laws
I’m kidding. If you take yourself so seriously that you feel personally attacked on this faceless medium, it might be time to get some help
I used to love when Howard ripped Scott the Engineer, but now he just makes up lame shit to start a fight. “Someone changed my compression”, waaaaaaaaaaaaaa, change it back fuck nuts, it’s your board.
Then he packs Arite’s fudge for standing up…please you hatchet face, big-nose Jew, retire to your Hamptons mansion and go limp dick on Beth.
Listener over 20 yrs used to stay updated marksfriggin but strong incise instant feedback from BG’ers much preferred. Agree..Stern is positioning himself into a lucrative mid day shortened show after contract expires. Movin to Saudi will stay hookah-ed up via Internet.
The Show(In LA now but native Detroiter)town is…OUT!
Showtown – be safe with that Hookah in Saudi
You do NOT want to end up in a Saudi jail!! Good god-I’d die of thirst over there-no alcohol allowed!
Wow so much hatred for Howie today. He has been rather annoying with his whining of late, but when in the past fifteen years has that been different? And before we all get up in arms about his income, he was making an obnoxious amount as a terrestrial radio host. Boy if anything, I would think you people would get more upset about that, not the fact that eventually he leaves…..man this is SFN lite…..
Leave my patients husband alone ya twits!!
A final insult to the subscribers would be a 2 day a week and summers off schedule. I’m pretty sure most of us are STILL pissed off Howard has fridays off. Not to mention the lack of any decent programing on 101 since Bubba went to shit anyhow, and once and for all (including fridays) BTLS show is fucking S-H-I-T. Farell might be ok..but fuck listening to sports..if you’re a fan..watch sports on TV dumbass. So as a Stern fan our hopes rest pretty much on Howie going back to FM radio in a big way and you can bet they will make him go to fucking work fridays.
Elvis-regarding Maryann, she was right on with her comment but we’re talkin’ about a guy who could make just about anything go away by throwin’ money at it so I don’t think reporting him and his weirdness and drug abuse to social services would have done anything. Had he been an average slob he probably wouldn’t have HAD those kids. The problem with his drug addiction was that he had so many people around him that knew he could be manipulated when he was loaded so why not keep him that way? He also didn’t think he was an addict because he wasn’t using street drugs and had doctors telling him it was okay.
That interview was pretty compelling-now I want to read the book. I agree with the author-they need to get those kids away from that family before Joe creates a new generation of fucked up Jackson kids.
Based on what is posted here, seems like most folks should be relieved he is off on Fridays so he is not being a whiner, a loser, unoriginal, lousy, crappy without Jackie, blah blah blah. To be honest, I almost kind of like him being off on Friday to catch p on some stuff I missed during the week. Besides that I guess I would rather hear him go past 10 am everyday than have him sign off at 10 on the mark………just can’t win I guess.
Good point on the Fridays.
Is Artie still with his new girlfriend Adrianne? Has he talked about her on the show lately? What’s her reaction to the DUI?
Better yet, what does her father, the good doctor, think of Artie’s latest arrest?
I’m sure the girlfriend and her father think of him as a meal ticket
I was wondering the same thing-haven’t heard him mention the GF since the arrest. Maybe she took that as a sign of things to come (or Daner got ahold of her!)
I’m sure as long if he has that wallet she’ll stay with him
With any luck, her father will help BG with the back-dated prescriptions.
hey, was out enjoying the beautiful weather in NYC……hope everyone had a good day.
I have to say, at times, I question what kind of fans you all are of the Stern show. I can’t recall a moment where Stern wasn’t complaining about something in the 20 years (!) I been listening to him!
However, there is something that SAL MONELLA said which is VERY TRUE and that’s about Howard’s lack of drive. Back in the day, Stern was fighting the FCC and all the people who didn’t think a “radio” guy could be anything more then a #1 dj in his own state. It was fun sharing that ride as he took over Philly, DC, Boston, LA and so on. However, with a huge contract and a young wife, Stern has nothing to fight for anymore…honestly his last fight was getting people to Sirius, which he accomplished. The stock dropping is Stern’s fault the way the NBA losing millions of dollars this year is Kobe/Lebron’s fault.
I will listen to Stern till the last day, but the drive is not there. BG/Benjy/Richard/Sal would have never lasted in the 90’s or even made the show. Now Stern doesn’t care as much…………it will be soon be time to crown the NEW KING ::::JASON ELLIS:::::
Sorry, BG, but you had your shot and blew it. Conan doesn’t want you on and neither does HBO and if you people think that the executives from that show/channel doesn’t speak with other executives, then you have never made it to management, where pissing off one suit will be spread and known to every other person. I’m not sure what BG’s thinking……..or doing !!
Just now hearing Hate Man’s tribute to Michael Jackson…CLASSIC…anyone put it up on YouTube yet???
I can’t help but LOVE Hate Man, in spite of his vicious racism. I hope it’s just an act. It’s as funny as BG lately.
Not Artie related but I agree with Sweaty Balls that Robin has shot off some good one liners this week. That interview with the Michael Jackson dude was good but my gosh did Howard let him answer ONE question without cutting him off?
I wish Hate Man would call in live. I know Artie could have some fun with him.
Has Hate Man ever called in live? He and Crazy Alice would be a fuckin’ riot on the phone together!
Hey-I’m in class tomorrow-I need details!
Fuck you and your beautiful weather DBBJ! It’s hotter that the fuckin’ Gobi desert here! I live in HELL!
i love you too Alpha
lol
nite everyone…….
Howard had a LONGGGGGGGGG pause in there today when the caller asked if Sirius was doomed after he left…. and, even after giving himself a few seconds to come up with a reasoned response, he didn’t do much of a job defending Sirius. Mind you, this is a guy who owns a LOT… thousands – possibly millions – of shares… of Sirius stock and/or stock options. In other words, if Sirius goes bankrupt, even if it remains in business after bankruptcy, Howard stands to lose tens of millions if not hundreds of millions of dollars. Ouch.
Alpha, where do you live that it is so hot? I was in Dallas last weekend and it genuinely felt like Dante’s infeno it was so freakin’ hot. I have literally never felt heat like that in my entire life. I will take my nice East Coast weather, thank you. lol.
I live in Northern Nevada about an hour east of Reno, which doesn’t get as because of the elevation but my little cow town is fuckin’ HOT.
I really have no clue what the hell is going on with this morning zoo but its gotten out of control on the Stern show. One day Artie is spot on the firing missiles and next he’s shooting blanks. Its like night and day with these people. So baffling. I’m pretty much teetering on burnout here with this show. I reupped Sirius a couple of months ago but now I’m having serious doubts about this choice. Will Stern even stick around after October? He keeps threatening to quit after then. The whole show is turning into a 4 hour daily negotiation pissing fest with Sirius corporate. Christ. Oh have the mighty have fallen. I never knew it would get this bad. Well at least I can listen to Opie and Anthony which really isn’t much consolation either. Those 2 are also on the brink after getting hacked off terrestrial radio last Spring. Sorry for the rant but I had to vent. Talk radio is really at an alltime low right now. Terrestrial and satellite included.
