On yesterday’s show, Artie said that he has been having insane anxiety attacks and his doctor has prescribed him Klonopin a couple weeks ago. He was told it takes about 4 weeks to kick in. Artie went on to say that he had been experiencing OCD flare-up (taping his foot) and pacing in his dressing room like he used to do during the MadTV days. On Monday, Artie found himself in the fetal position with his leg so uncontrollably shaking that his girlfriend had to stand on it.

Artie’s doctor suggested that he may have to go away and do an intensive treatment program, like a Sober House.
One Last Appearance
Artie will be at Comix Comedy Club in NYC on Dec. 17th at 9:30pm. He said it will be just a short 20 minute set.
He sounds so freaking high today. He is slurring his words like crazy.
It’s amazing how the supporters of Artie have subsided, well maybe not amazing but probbaly now realizing what I have been saying for the last year, that he has an inability to tell the truth,his addictions he is not willing to let go of 1. Because he has NEVVVVVVVVVER been disciplined for absences, etc. 2. He’s an addict who is surrounded by enablers
I will never understand why he is so coddled, it is bizarre to say the least. I can’t name any other job on Earth where I this total lack of professionalism would be tolerated.
I called it, he would flip out again once the new product came out. I should have put money on it!

Um…… 4 weeks for Klonopin to start working?!?!? It’s not an anti-depressant…. that will kick in right away. It’s like Xanax times 100. He’s straight up lying.
Klonnie will kick in right away. It’s a pretty heavy duty drug. It’s surprising that his doctor is giving him that, w/ his drug history. Argh. To find out how bad Klonopin can be, google “Stevie Nicks Klonopin” She was addicted to it for years..said quitting it was worse than kicking coke.
i’ve been using klonopin for years. it works immediately and is a relatively mind anxiety reducer. artie is so full of shit with his nonsense. howard obviously doesnt care to intervene so he should just tell him to not make any excuses whenever he’s out. it totally ruins the show and is annoying to listen to.
I have dealt with anxiety for years, and as a result have been on antidepressants and klonopin on an off for 25 + years. Now it is more generalized anxiety, but initially they were full blown panic attacks. I have never slurred my words, had uncontrollable leg shakes, been in a fetal position unable to leave my bed, etc. I know many people that suffer from severe anxiety, and I cannot reconcile anything Artie is saying with what I know and have experienced with anxiety and depression. It sounds entirely substance abuse related at this point.
Klonopin starts to work in about 45 min. Not 4 weeks!Lexapro & what ever J.D. is taking take about 4 wks to work. Was a big fan of Artie but all his lies and b.s. have really turned me off.One big fat liar!
He said he was taking another drug along with Klonopin.
so that was a cozy 2 day work week for the big guy! Wish I had that kinda schedule!!
