Joe Buck Live cancelled

Friday, March 26th, 2010

That’s right, after 3 episodes, Joe Buck Live is over. But can you blame anyone? After Artie stole the show in the debut, how could you top it?

“There was a lot more behind the scenes and a lot more effort and hassle than I ever expected, and that goes from booking guests to actually getting guests there to, obviously, the Artie Lange thing in the first show,” Buck said.

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

Norm Macdonald was a guest on yesterday’s Toucher & Rich show on 98.5 The Sports Hub. He told a short story about Artie breaking his ankle during a celebrity softball game. Also, Norm said he spoke to Artie a couple days ago and remarked, “he was doing real well.”

MGM Foxwoods Show

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Many of you have been clamoring about Artie’ show listed on the MGM website for this summer. Unfortunately, this isn’t anything new. It’s been on there for a couple months already, which leads me to believe that it was scheduled before his unfortunate situation. In fact, I think it was a reschedule to the show he cancelled last year.

I will try to confirm the show for you all. I think they just forgot to cancel it.

UPDATE

Still waiting for a final confirmation, but I did call Artie’s old Road Manager. He said that the show was supposed to be “taken care of”, meaning, it was supposed to be canceled. He told me he would let me know the final verdict. Unless there is a summer surprise for us, I don’t think there is a show.

Howard gives a quick update on Artie

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Howard gave a quick Artie update during a phone call from a long-time Stern fan who called in to talk about his brain and stomach cancer. The caller said he wanted to send out wishes to Artie, at that time Howard interrupted to say that he spoke to Artie a couple days ago.

Howard said Artie sounded good, said he was “up Artie”, explaining that the last time he spoke with him, he sounded really down. Artie told Howard that he has been sober for 54 days now, going to meetings and doing his thing.

I’m sure fans will question why Howard held out on giving us that update till now. If that caller didn’t bring it up, would Howard have?
