Page Six is reporting that Artie has in fact checked himself into rehab over the weekend and canceling all appearances including the Bob Saget roast and the Foxwoods show.

SBG needs to send its support to Artie right now. He is finally doing something about his health and I think its very positive. It is a shame that he wound up going this route but if it helps him manage himself better and be healthier for the future then its all good.

You will be dissapointed if you woke up this morning wanting to hear Artie.

Around 8:25am, they brought up that it seems he tends to call out one day during the week before vacation. So I guess they won’t be here next week.

“You know you are a ticking time bomb” exclaimed Howard.

Howard noticed during Robin’s news that baby gorilla Artie’s arms were lacking hair and asked him if he shaved his arms. Artie thought that he has been losing hair on his arms and legs as he gets older or fatter. Questions started flying around to what could be causing this. Artie the self-proclaimed hypochondriac started getting worried and stressed out. Howard told him to get a check up and that he knows what he needs to do to reverse it. But can it be reversed? Is it too late?

Thyroid? Weight? Drinking? Is this a symptom of an underlying health problem or just natural taking its course on a man who has done more damage to it than part-time sadist.

WAAAHHHHHH! I hit my head and need stitches…

Well it didn’t take Artie long before not showing up, at least this time it’s a different reason.

Artie called out this morning because he bumped into a bookcase at home causing blood everywhere and he was on his way to the hospital to get stitches. No details yet. Hopefully Howard 100 News gets down there to report on the situation.

My Langford-sense is ringing

So the question I have is, did the bookcase survive? Actually I am very curious about the circumstances around this. Was there alcohol involved? Drugs? Food? Something is fishy here, so what do you all think?

Artie will be coming back in around 20 minutes with a good story about what happened.

Artie has come in and says that he hit his face on the dresser… LOTS OF BLOOD. I will have the audio.

It’s becoming a regular thing and every one on the show has their concerns about it. Artie called in and told Jason this morning he wouldn’t be coming in.

Poor George. He thinks it may be because of him and the whole PSA with the Human Rights Campaign. Gary said 3 out of the 4 first day appearances by George Takei is met with Artie Lange not being here. George explained how there has been a difficult communication between the Lange camp and the HRC concerning the script for the PSA. George also brought up that much like the Crumbs cupcake money might, the HRC might not take Artie’s tainted money if he loses his bet with the F word.

Robin said she had an issue with Artie this weekend when they had plans to go to the Rolling Stones show and he called up on the day and said he had a family function.

Howard who usually gives Artie the benefit of the doubt expressed his concern as well thinking something is going on. I’m not sure he was thinking drugs but definitely that something could be wrong.

Sit Down

Howard said he hasn’t sit down and talked to Artie about it yet. He said he doesn’t like to lay down the law with people he works with. He said it’s only a 4 day work week and should be here.

Artie is still sick…

So what is it? Clearly he still isn’t working off a hangover… what do y’all think now?

I’ve only been listening for about 30 mins so far (west coast feed) and haven’t heard from the big man. Is he sick or is a scheduled slack off?

Art was a no show today and missed out on the great Jamie Foxx interview. It would have been interesting to have a comic’s perspective on Jamie, however, like Gary said - it might have been better just being a regular interview without interruption. But Artie would have had some common experiences that he could have added in on.

Teddy said that Artie had text-messaged him for a comic’s phone number. I guess he was just bed-ridden.

Crazy Cabbie is on the show right now coming clean about his drug use and the question came up Do you think that Artie is sick or back on drugs?

Cabbie said he thinks Artie has the behavior of an addict and that he needs to get some help.

Of course this is coming from an a-hole like Cabbie. Grain of salt.
