Artie back in the day on Mad TV
Looking Back: Babewatch Revisited
February 4th, 2010Rosie and Howard talk Artie
January 30th, 2010Sorry I am a late on this one. As many of you probably already heard this, Howard was a guest on Rosie Radio. Rosie O’Donnell brought up the topic of Artie and the two of them talked about it for a few minutes. Listen below.
Artie Tattoo in Flash Magazine
January 30th, 2010Someone’s love of Artie has made it into the latest issue of Flash Magazine. Fans should recognize this image from the Too Fat to Fish cover, as well as, the SBG header.

Don’t forget this Artie Lange tattoo as well.
Thanks to “McFierce24″ for sending this in.
Jack and Coke on Comedy Central Tonight
January 23rd, 2010Not sure what to watch tonight? Well, Comedy Central is premiering Jack and Coke tonight at 10pm EST. I am not sure if it will be censored. I think they do uncensored material after midnight, so perhaps the 1am showing will be different? The full DVD is 90 minutes but only 60 minutes will air. Check your local listings.
Update: The 10pm showing was censored. I counted give or take a couple, 165 bleeps. LOL. The Secret Stash version at 1am EST will be uncensored.
Looking Back: Artie on Conan 11/11/08
January 22nd, 2010Some recent web chatter about this Artie appearance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien from 2008 before Conan made the leap to the Tonight Show. Artie tells Conan he should have held out for a 40 million dollar payout to not work. Coincidently, Conan looks to get nearly that same amount in a payoff by NBC coming soon.
Reminder: Tonight is Conan’s last time as the host of the Tonight Show.
Re-Mission Statement
January 21st, 2010Over the years, SBG has stood as a place to celebrate Artie’s successes and follow his struggles. Many times we have poked fun at his expense, but it was always done (on my part) out of love and in the spirit of the Howard Stern Show.
We have always enjoyed a small, rotating group of regular posters. Some were Artie fans and others who were haters, the stereotypical SFN types who can’t say many positive things and leaves you puzzled to why they even listen.
Obviously over the past month, we have experienced an increase in activity here and it has been difficult to moderate the website. For the most part, I have always allowed people to say what they want, in reason, and as long as they weren’t trying to pick arguments. I have only had to ban a few people since the website started.
Recently, with the sensitivity of Artie’s current health status, I have gone to extreme measures to filter any offensive, off-topic and speculative comments which people have left. With respect to the family’s wishes and to Artie’s sanity (and maybe add in my own family struggles), I will continue to do so. Frankly, this is my blog and I can decide what gets put on here and how I want it represented. I would like this blog to be a place of support, that is why it is called “SAVE” Baby Gorilla. Right now, I am so committed to the “saving” part, that I can see a point where it is time to end the site for Artie’s sake.
We can still have fun and express opinions but if you are gonna talk about off-topic stuff, be overly offensive, overly speculative, troll or just try to stir the pot, you will find no place here. For those wishing to discuss all other areas of the show, I run another blog called DailyStern.com, part of the STERNiverse.com. Feel free to go there and be as annoying as you want, again, in reason. I do not regulate that site as I do here.
For the true Artie fans who have recently participated in a loving way, I applaud your maturity, spirit and sympathy.
Howard finally talks to Artie
January 19th, 2010In the first half hour of the show, Artie was discussed. Howard said that he finally got to talk to Artie via phone over the weekend. Gary and Fred went and visited him together. Robin said she had visited him as well. They didn’t give any details on him, just that it was tough talking with him because none of them really knew what to say.
Donation Update
January 13th, 2010As many of you already know, last Thursday SBG accepted donations from Stern fans so we could send Artie a Get Well package. In my limited foresight, I only expected to raise enough money to send some flowers, maybe a gift basket to the family and a card. I certainly didn’t expect what was to follow. I soon became flooded with emails from people asking how they could give some money. I remember wanting to cut it off at about 11am when it hit about $200 but it was so hard to turn people away, caring fans who graciously wanted to give and show their support of, and to, Artie. By the end of the day, SBG received roughly $600 from all of you.
Obviously, that is far more money than what was needed for the original plan. I contacted the family and I let them decide what to do with the money.
The Lange family is very appreciative of your generosity and thanks you all very much.
On behalf of SBG, thank you all so much for making this happen. Peace and love, peace and love.
Also, I am collecting letters to give to Artie. You can send them to getwellartie@gmail.com. He won’t receive them right now but in time he will be able to read them.
Gilbert Gottfried “talks” about Artie
January 13th, 2010(I will try to post audio a bit later)
If you were hoping to hear long-time Stern show guest, Gilbert Gottfried, comment on Artie Lange this morning, you’ll have to keep waiting. At no point during today’s appearance did the comedian drop character to talk seriously about Artie, instead, he used the time to make a lot of jokes and do some impersonations of Artie.
Prior to being on air, Gary said that he was chatting with Gilbert and Greg from Carolines when Artie’s name came up and Gilbert didn’t say anything. Howard and Robin repeatedly tried to get Gilbert to comment throughout the show but were unsuccessful.
In other news
This morning Howard did say he tried to get in touch with Artie but couldn’t, saying it was hard to get in touch with him.
Steppin’ Out Magazine’s Chaunce Hayden feels Howard has turned his back on Artie (Read article), meanwhile the article displays a photoshop of Artie holding a sword.
